The Mimi Ullens Foundation wishes only the best well-being care to the people affected by cancer. In order to do so, the Foundation keeps itself posted regularly on the successful methods regarding therapeutic well-being. Since October 2016, the Mimi Ullens Foundation offers, in partnership with the Academics Saint Luc clinics (Bruxelles, Belgium), mindfulness courses for its patients.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) or Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a technique based on paying attention to the present moment and the physical sensations accompanying it. It has been proven to be particularly effective against anxiety and stress.
Sensations of greater well-being, better stress management, reduced symptoms, better quality of sleep … are some of the many benefits praised by cancer patients.
This free program is offered exclusively to patients battling cancer; and is at their disposal until one year after the end of their treatment. The program consists of 9 sessions of 2h30, where participants receive a training in the various techniques of mindfulness: yoga, body scan, meditative walking…
It’s a wonderful initiative!
