While traveling in Nepal, Myriam was inspired to help the country’s underprivileged children. She built two orphanages to help children suffering from malnutrition. Then, together with her husband, she created in 2006 the Ullens School.
The Ullens School offers a multidisciplinary and balanced curriculum within the framework of the Nepal Government’s National Curriculum for Grades 1-10 through the own pedagogy of the Ullens family.
Since 2009, the school has been dispensing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Ullens School is the first and only IB World School in Nepal that has been authorized by the Government of Nepal to run the IBDP. Ullens School started offering HSEB program in 2012.
The school has a long lasting partnership with the Bank Street College of Education, New York, a pioneer in innovative and progressive education. Ullens School offers a safe and fulfilling learning environment. Teachers combine a softness in their approach with a sense of justice and maintain high standards of ethical behavior as well as intellectual achievement. Many of its students have won American scholarships.
